A clear, two-component polyurethane based, high-gloss finish for varnishing wood and providing an extra coating to epoxy. This high-clarity, high gloss exterior-durable varnish provides superior UV protection and prolonged resistance to chemicals and abrasion. Excellent for heavy use areas. Berger Heavy Duty Exterior varnish is specially designed to deliver superior performance when compared to conventional varnishes.
Surface preparation:
- Sand bare wood with 80 grade paper
- Wipe with Reducer #5
- Varnish may be reduced 10% with Reducer #5
- Previously coated surfaces in good condition, should be sanded with 120-150 grade (grit) paper
- Remove all dust
- Surfaces in poor condition should be brought back to bare wood by sanding
Application Procedure:
- Apply by brush, roller or spray
- Follow label instructions carefully
- Failure to do so may lead to poor drying & loss of adhesion
- Ambient temperature for application is between 50˚F/10˚C & 35˚C/95˚F
- Apply to clean, dry, properly prepared surfaces only
- Compatible with previous epoxies only
- Do not apply over one-part paint
- Apply up to 7 coats on bare wood and 4 on previously coated Wood
- Theoretical coverage 600 (sq ft/Gal) by brush
Tips: Mix base and curing agent thoroughly at the specified ratio on the label and mix only what will be consumed within the pot-life.
